Neurodiversity: From Abnormal to Extraordinary—A short training video introducing 神经的多样性 created by Steven Vitt ’20. A downloadable facilitator guide and other 支持ing materials are also included for use by students, 老师, 辅导员, 多样性培训师.

Neurodiversity 图书馆 Guide: This “lib guide” highlights some of Landmark College 图书馆’s resources for academic re搜索 and pleasure reading and viewing related to the topic of 神经的多样性. It was created by a student intern with an interest in 神经的多样性. The 图书馆 is always open to hearing your suggestions for new titles and services—please let them know if you have a suggestion.

Organizations featuring the expertise of neurodivergent people

Much of the available information about autism, 学习障碍, and ADHD comes from experts who have deep knowledge about these variations but may not have firsthand experience. This valuable work has led to the advances that benefit people today. While scientific and academic knowledge is valuable, a criticism of past re搜索 is that is has not been inclusive enough.

Here is a sample of organizations committed to inclusion. They provide education and a platform for neurodivergent people to share their stories.

ADDitude
Online and print publication dedicated to ADHD. This site is geared toward a wide audience including children, adults, families, and professionals. 支持和故事 is a collection of insider accounts of living with ADHD.

自闭症的艺术
Nonprofit that empowers autistic people and their families through participation in the arts. Approximately 800 participants in 35 countries. Features include People of 多样性 Speaking (PODS), an online community of autistic artists, 以及 # ActuallyAutistic 博客和诗人.

Autism Self-宣传 Network (峨山)
ASAN’s mission is to “advance the principles of the dis能力 rights movement with regards to autism.” This organization provides a host of online resources for advocates and allies.

Autistic Women and Nonbinary Network (芒)
AWN’s motto: “Neurodiversity is for Everyone”
Nonprofit to provide community, 支持, and resources for Autistic women, 女孩, 非的人, and all others of marginalized 性别s.

眼对眼
Nonprofit mentoring and 支持 organization for students who learn differently. 眼对眼 describes itself as a “welcoming hand, ushering students with learning and attention issues into a community where they are helped to move from self-doubt to empowerment—and even their own version of greatness—by near-peers who face many of the same challenges themselves.”

Landmark College Centers for 多样性 and 包容
Student-led centers at Landmark College that focus on making the campus a welcoming place for all. The Centers define diversity as “encompassing many intersecting identities including race, 种族, 国籍, 社会经济类, 性别, 性别 identity and expression, 性取向, 年龄, 能力, 神经的多样性, 宗教信仰, 政治观点, and first-generation college students.”

Landmark College Institute for 研究 and 培训

The Yale Center for Dyslexia and Creativity
